PROJECT SUMMARY
From a technical challenge to a working system
This case study demonstrates how TavoTech developed the complete FM02 system - from technical requirements and electronics to connectivity, servers and mobile applications.
Challenge
A failed energiser, incorrect connection, detached clip or damaged fence can remain unnoticed until the next physical inspection.

TavoTech designed and programmed the complete system: electronics, mechanics, embedded software, the server solution, and the iPhone and Android applications.
Outcome
The outcome is a complete, integrated system that measures voltage up to 15 kV, transfers data over a cellular connection and presents it on a phone.

For the FM02 project, TavoTech carried out the electronics, mechanical, embedded-system, server-side and mobile-application design, engineering and programming work.
Electronics and mechanics
Circuit design, PCB development, high-voltage measurement circuitry, enclosure integration, mounting and connections.

Measurement logic, power management, diagnostics, NB-IoT / LTE-M data transfer and alert initiation.

Fewer daily inspections and faster response
The device helps reveal when the energiser has switched off, failed, been connected incorrectly or when the fence has been damaged.
- Voltage-drop alerts are delivered directly to the phone.
- Suitable for remote pastures and farms.

MOBILE APPLICATION
Data and alerts in one place
The TavoTech app works with iPhone and Android phones. It provides current readings, up to seven days of history and configurable alerts.

TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION
Electronics, connectivity and power management
FM02 combines high-voltage measurement, battery power, internal-temperature monitoring and low-power cellular connectivity.
- Voltage measurement up to 15 kV.
- Measurement interval - 30 s.
- Data-transfer interval - 30 min.
- An alarm is sent immediately after measurement.
- Battery-level and internal-temperature monitoring.
- Powered by four AA batteries; operating time up to six months.
- Nano SIM card; NB-IoT or LTE-M coverage is required.

FM02 is designed for farmers, livestock owners, pasture managers and anyone who needs to monitor electric-fence status remotely and receive important alerts in time.
