Design approach

An electronics product is designed as one coordinated system

Dependable electronics design starts with clear functional requirements and a well-founded system architecture. Schematics, components, the printed circuit board (PCB), firmware and mechanical constraints are evaluated together.

The scope is adapted to the project stage: work can begin with an idea or technical specification, continue an existing project, or cover one defined stage. This gives small and medium-sized companies access to senior-level expertise without maintaining a permanent engineering position.

A consistent design process exposes interface, component and manufacturing issues earlier, reducing the risk of costly changes and rework later in development.

The result is a coordinated electronics solution, a verified prototype and the agreed source and manufacturing files for continued product development or series production.

When to get in touch

Electronics design for different project situations

A new electronics productYou need a technical architecture and a realistic path from idea to working prototype.

A stalled projectYou need to identify the cause of a fault, instability or hardware–firmware integration problem.

Obsolete components or designYou need to replace unavailable components, update the design or preserve essential functionality.

A specific project stageYou only need schematics, PCB design, firmware, a prototype, a technical review or production preparation.

Workflow

A clear path from requirements to technical handover

Clear intermediate deliverables make it possible to validate key assumptions early, manage technical risk and reduce costly late-stage rework.

Requirements analysisFunctions, operating environment, interfaces, constraints and success criteria are agreed.

ArchitectureThe technical direction, key components, power architecture and data flows are defined.

DesignSchematics, PCB, libraries and firmware are developed according to the agreed scope.

PrototypeBoard fabrication, component procurement, prototype assembly and initial bring-up are coordinated.

TestingFunctionality and integration are checked against agreed criteria, with changes and known limitations documented.

HandoverDocumentation and the agreed source and manufacturing files are handed over for continued product development.

Frequently asked questions

Before starting an electronics project

How much does electronics design cost?

Cost depends on the functions, circuit complexity, PCB, firmware and testing scope. A short project description is enough to estimate the initial stage and propose a work plan.

How long does an electronics project take?

Duration depends on project scope, component availability, prototype lead times and the number of required iterations. Work is divided into clear stages.

Can you take over an existing project?

Yes. Available source files, schematics, PCB data, software and documentation are reviewed before risks and a continuation plan are presented.

Do you modernise legacy electronics?

Yes. Existing PCB, Gerber files and the bill of materials (BOM) can be analysed, missing schematics reconstructed, obsolete components replaced or a new solution designed.

Can we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA)?

Yes. A non-disclosure agreement can be arranged before sensitive technical information is shared.

What information is needed to begin?

A short description of the product purpose, key functions, operating environment, available interfaces and desired outcome is enough to begin. Existing files can be assessed during technical analysis.

Need to design or update an electronics product?

Send the available technical information or a short project description. TavoTech will assess the project stage and key risks, then suggest a practical next step.
